• Multimeter Hi Res digit rounding....or not.

    A list of my multimeters can be purchased here:
    http://astore.amazon.com/m0711-20?_encoding=UTF8&node=5

    In this video I demonstrate how some multimeters with a Hi Res (high resolution) mode round the last digit when switching back to a low resolution mode. In essence they just "hide" the last digit which is not the correct way they should handle this.

    Equipment used:

    * Brymen TBM867 / BM867
    * ISO-Tech IDM207
    * Fluke 87-V

  • Compressed Air Leak Detection with Fluke's ii900 Sonic Industrial Imager

    How much could you save if you could see sound?

    With the Fluke ii900 Sonic Industrial Imager, quickly pinpoint compressed air, gas and vacuum leaks– the invisible energy thief.

    Did you know that compressed air leaks can account for 40 % of wasted electricity? Detecting air leaks has been time-consuming and tedious–until now. Finally, a better way to save on compressed air systems.

    The Fluke ii900 is an acoustic camera that can see the sound a leak produces, even from a distance, even in noisy industrial environments.

  • When do I use a Digital Multimeter vs a Clamp Meter? | Fluke Pro Tips

    Fluke Product Manager, Jessie Zhang, walks through when it is the right time to use a digital multimeter versus a clamp meter. The two products offer different features and should be used in different situations.

    A digital multimeter is a test tool used to measure two or more electrical values—principally voltage (volts), current (amps) and resistance (ohms). It is a standard diagnostic tool for technicians in the electrical/electronic industries.

    A clamp meter is an electrical test tool that combines a basic digital multimeter with a current sensor. Clamps measure current. Probes measure voltage. Having a hinged jaw integrated into an electrical meter allows technicians to clamp the jaws around a wire, cable or other conductors at any point in an electrical system, then measure current in that circuit without disconnecting/de-energizing it.

  • The Importance of Battery Testers | Fluke Pro Tips

    Fluke Pro, Jason Axelson explains why early identification of battery failure helps keep your assets as well as your company up and running.

    Use a battery tester to measure voltage, internal resistance and strap resistance to find indications of early-stage battery failure or installation problems.

    Key measurements – Internal battery resistance, dc and ac voltage, dc and ac current, ripple voltage, frequency and temperature.

    Sequence measurement mode – Automatic or manual sequence testing of battery strings with automatic measurement storage including voltage, resistance, and temperature (with BTL21 intelligent test probe), eliminating the need to press a button each time measurement needs to be saved.

    Comprehensive logging – All measured values are automatically captured during testing and can be reviewed on the instrument before downloading for on-the-go analysis.

  • Why do I need an insulation tester | Comtest Fluke Pro Tips

    Shaun from Fluke educates us why an insulation tester is a crucial tool to have. He elaborates on the benefits yield by the insulation meter.

    Check out our insulation testers and see what they do: https://comtest.co.za/Online-Store/Ca...
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Why do you need an insulation tester?
    The insulation tester is designed to check the integrity of conductors wires or check the insulation value of motor/compressor windings. We check if there is a breakdown in there that might cause malfunctioning. Insulation tester is helpful for a preventive maintenance plan (PMP) it allows you to do a streamlined test and baseline test.

  • Introducing the Fluke IRR1 SOL Irradiance Meter

    hether you’re surveying, installing, executing maintenance or checking the performance of solar panels or a photovoltaic system, the Fluke irradiance meter takes 4 critical measurements needed.

    With the Fluke irradiance meter, you can make instantaneous measurements to determine the watt per square meter solar irradiation. Measure the ambient temperature at the panel easier and faster than ever.

    The Fluke IRR1-SOL is the only irradiance meter that can take the temperature without needing an external probe. This is enabled by innovative Fluke technology which embeds an integrated conductive temperature sensor in the meter. Temperature can also be measured with increased accuracy with the external temperature probe.

    + A built-in compass enables you to measure and document roof or site orientation.

    + An inclination sensor lets you know the solar panel tilt when surveying, installing or adjusting the installation.

    + The Fluke irradiance meter is robust, rugged, compact, and ergonomically designed so it fits comfortably in your hand.

    + The high contrast LCD and large, readable numbers make the screen easy to see even in bright sunlight.

    + It comes with a convenient carry case with a shoulder strap.

    Get all the critical photovoltaic measurements needed to install, verify, and report on the performance of a photovoltaic system in one easy-to-use instrument.
